AI/ML continues to grow across many sectors from artistic endeavors to medicine to chatbots like chatGPT. We will focus on the impact Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have inside the medical industry and how the use of these resources can impact medical science, not to take over, but to assist in elevating the quality of care and offerings available to the public.

Meet Our Panelists!

Kwame Ulmer: Brings over 20 years of experience evaluating medical technologies in the government and private sector, spending 12 years at the FDA where he became a Deputy Director, Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), as well as serving in senior operating roles at medical device companies, including VP/Regulatory Strategy at Danaher.

Brian Dolan: A mathematician, inventor and cyberneticist with decades of experience building enterprise grade artificial intelligence products. Equally comfortable in product, sales and technology roles, Brian excels at translating complex business problems into tractable mathematical solutions. He leverages 10 years of CXO experience to advise multiple companies from seed to growth stage. He currently serves at VP, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Fortrea, the world’s largest CRO.

Dr. Irina Kukuyeva: Irina helps VCs do AI due diligence. Irina brings over 10 years of experience in developing, implementing, and inventing AI algorithms and teaching others to do so. Irina was Head of Clinical Research at VPS. She's mentored 150+ start-ups through Techstars (general, healthcare, and space cohorts), Founder Institute Healthcare, and other accelerators. She's an advisory board member for CTIP (a MedTech accelerator).

Ramsay Brown: A neuroscientist, author, and CEO of Mission Control AI: an LLM security and AI Safety company serving enterprise and defense. His work over the past decade spans AI Safety, data science, behavioral engineering, brain mapping, and quantum nanochemistry. He advises and speaks at the Department of Defense, NATO, Department of State, SIGGRAPH, and McKinsey & Company, amongst other globally-leading organizations. He holds a research position at Cambridge, where he annually convenes The Leaders in Responsible AI Summit and publishes on the future of AI. Rams is a native Californian, and can usually be found on, near, or in the Pacific Ocean.

Gary Urban: Gary has 27 years of drug development experience, holding global leadership positions in Information Technology, Clinical Operations, and Quality & Compliance. Passionate about innovation and business transformation, Gary spent 4+ years working to advance industry adoption and regulatory acceptance of the virtual, decentralized and hybrid clinical trial models, and is now exploring how elements of these may serve to streamline early phase clinical trials.

Evan Tsang (moderator): Nearly 25 years’ experience leading product development teams in small and large companies in automotive and medtech, including Class II and III products. His experience includes Danaher/Beckman and Alcon/Novartis and several startups, including his own.
